His name has been linked with the late K-drama actress Kim Sae-Ron with claims that both were dating each other when Sae-Ron was a minor. During the press conference on March 27, 2025, Kim Sae-Ron's family presented evidence that supported the claims that Sae-Ron and Kim Soo-Hyun dated each other while she was a minor. The press conference was attended by Kim Sae-Ron's lawyer.

During the press conference, Kim Sae-Ron's lawyer stated, "The bereaved family initially had no choice but to reveal that Kim Soo-hyun had been in a relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron since she was a minor. This was because the family had been preparing a lawsuit against YouTuber Lee Jin Ho, who had not only spread false information about the late actress, but also belittled and ridiculed her, contributing significantly to her psychological distress (sic)," as per GMA Entertainment.

Exhausted with all the claims, Lee Jin-Ho's attorney further claimed that they are putting rest to all the speculations and criticism by revealing some of the unseen messages. After the statement was made by the attorney, Kim Sae-Ron's family released the messages sent on KakaoTalk between Sae-Ron and Soo-Hyun in June 2016. In the screenshots shared, Sae-Ron says to Soo-Hyun, "never wake up." To this, Soo-Hyun replied, "Yes, I wouldn't know even if you kissed me. When can I fall asleep with you in my arms? I'll really get a good night's sleep then." The late actress then replied, "I'll do it whenever I want."

Attorney then asked Kim Soo-Hyun through the press conference, "If they weren't dating, then I would like to ask Kim Soo-hyun myself, what relationship they had. If he keeps saying that he didn't date her as a minor, then did he sexually groom her? Do we need to take more measures? (sic)"
