Kim Soo Hyun-Kim Sae Ron Dating Controversy: Popular South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun, who is also said to be the highest-paid actor, has landed himself under the scanner over his past relationship with late actress Kim Sae-ron when she was a 'minor'. The 'Queen of Tears' actor got embroiled in the dating scandal following the tragic death of the 'Bloodhounds' actress. Former journalist Kim Se-eui claimed in his explosive video on YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute that 27-year-old Kim Soo-hyun was romantically involved with 'minor' Kim Sae-ron when she just 15 years old. Recently, Soo-hyun's agency GOLDMEDALIST confirmed their past relationship. Now, the question is - could Kim Soo-hyun get charged with criminal charged for dating a minor?

On Saturday, Garosero Research Institute took the internet by storm after uploading an alleged private of picture of Kim Soo-hyun which was apparently taken at late Kim Sae-ron's apartment.
In the picture, Soo-hyun was allegedly seen washing dishes in Sae-ron's kitchen. However, it is still not confirmed yet if that guy in the explicit picture is really Kim Soo-hyun since his back is visible to the camera. However, netizens are convinced that it was Kim Soo-hyun and tha picture was indeed taken at Sae-ron's house.

Even though Kim Soo-hyun dated Kim Sae-ron when she was still a 'minor', this doesn't fall under a punishable act as per the new laws of South Korea.
According to Allkpop, YTN spoke to a lawyer Lee Go-eun and addressed the ongoing matter. Explaining the current South Korean law, Go-eun was quoted saying, "According to the current law, revised in May 2020, engaging in sexual acts or physical intimacy with a minor under 16, even with consent, could constitute statutory rape or sexual misconduct. However, before the 2020 amendment, the law applied only to minors under 13, not under 16 (sic)."
"Since Kim Sae Ron was 15 at the time (in 2015), the older version of the law would apply. Under that law, criminal charges for statutory rape or misconduct required the minor to be under 13. The fact that they were in a relationship alone would not be sufficient for prosecution. Given that the previous law applies in this case, a 15-year-old would not fall under the definition of statutory rape, (sic)" the legal expert added.
Amid the dating scandal, Kim Soo-hyun has been dropped as PRADA ambassador, including other brand deals. The actor has also lost over 1 million followers on Instagram.
