Lee Sun Jung had a press conference on May 21, 2025. In this conference, the director opened up about his last project with the late actress Kim Sae Ron. Even though it was difficult for Sun Jung to work on the post-production of the movie after Sae Ron's death, he continued to do so as he promised that the movie will make it to the theater.
Recalling how meeting Sae Ron was for him, Sun Jung said, "We initially had another actress in mind for the role, but after meeting Kim Sae Ron, everything changed." He added, "From our very first meeting, she came having read the script thoroughly and brought with her a wealth of ideas. Her passion for a small-scale film like ours was something I deeply appreciated. And that bright smile, I'll never forget it," as per Koreaboo's report.
However, his other statement came as a shock to many. Sun Jung said that even though Sae Ron was smiling but she looked "visibly drained once she turned away." The director claimed in the press conference, "She was deeply conscious of how people perceived her." When Sae Ron was not filming, she allegedly used to stay in her car and avoid all the attention. Sun Jung said that watching Sae Ron pour alcohol in a water glass "out of fear" made his heart ache.
