Starring Hwang Min-hyun ('Alchemy of Souls' fame) as 'Yun Ga-min', Study Group premiered its first two episodes (Eps 1 & 2) on January 23, 2025, and concluded its 10-episode-journey on February 20.

The beloved webtoon-based Kdrama ended on a positive note but with some unanswered questions. In the finale episode (ep 10), we saw Pi Han-Ul finally getting behind bars for his wrong deeds. With this, the Study Group members finally cleared their name and continued to thrive under Miss Lee's (played by Han Ji-eun) guidance.

On May 12, South Korean media outlet Star News confirmed the speculations of Study Group Season 2. As per Soompi, the production company of Study Group, Studio Dragon, published their Q1 2025 earnings presentation and confirmed Study Group Season 2 while listing it as a key highlight.

Confirming the same, a representative of Studio Dragon told Star News, "'Study Group' Season 2 is in the early stages of planning. (sic)"

Will Hwang Min-hyun Return In Study Group Season 2?

While the makers confirmed that Study Group Season 2 is in the early stage of planning, social media is flooded with messages like they want Hwang Min-hyun as the lead, reprising his role. Meanwhile, the makers are yet to share an update on the cast.

For those unversed, Hwang Min-hyun is currently serving his military duties and will be discharged on December 20, 2025.
