2018 Malayalam Movie India's Official Entry For Oscars 2024: The Malayalam film "2018 - Everyone is a Hero" has achieved a major milestone for the Indian film industry by being chosen as India's official entry for the 96th Academy Awards, commonly known as the Oscars, scheduled for 2024.

The Film Federation of India (FFI) made the announcement on Tuesday, marking the film's impressive journey from its regional roots to the international stage.

Meanwhile, the subtitler of the movie, Vivek Ranjit, took to social media to share his elation as "2018: Everyone is a Hero" was declared India's official entry to the Oscars.

Vivek Ranjit, an FTII alumnus, expressed his happiness at the movie's achievement. He went on to express pride in his small contribution, emphasizing the honor of having the Academy witness the film with his subtitles.

Vivek Ranjit, also a scriptwriter of films such as "Thaaram" and "Kili Poyi," concluded his message with heartfelt congratulations to director Jude Anthany Joseph and the entire team. Vivek Ranjit has worked as a subtitler for over 230 films and is also involved in anchoring and conducting interviews.

Directed by the talented filmmaker Jude Anthany Joseph, the movie "2018 - Everyone is a Hero" has garnered critical acclaim and box office success for its compelling storytelling, remarkable performances, and thoughtful exploration of the events surrounding the severe 2018 Kerala floods that devastated the region. The film revolves around the lives of ordinary people and their heroism in the face of this calamity, emphasising the idea that heroes can emerge from the most unexpected places.
