Shraddha, a Thiruvankulam native from Tripunithura in Ernakulam district, was tragically discovered hanging in her hostel room on Friday evening, reportedly after her mobile phone was confiscated by college authorities. Her family alleges that the mental torment inflicted by a teacher played a significant role in her death. They also accuse the college authorities of deliberately neglecting to seek immediate medical assistance for Shraddha.

According to Shraddha's classmates, the unfortunate chain of events began when the college authorities reprimanded her for using her mobile phone in the college laboratory. They confiscated her phone for two days and called Shraddha's parents from Ernakulam to collect it. The head of the department summoned Shraddha to his office, where she was subjected to a scolding. Shortly after this incident, Shraddha confided in friends about contemplating suicide and expressed her exhaustion with life.

When the college authorities informed Shraddha's family about the incident, they cited her declining marks in the semester examination, which likely added to her distress. The family alleges that Shraddha took her own life due to the mental anguish and humiliation she experienced at the hands of the college authorities.
