Unni
Mukundan
Gets
Relief
In
Sexual
Harassment
Case:
In
a
recent
development,
actor
Unni
Mukundan
has
received
relief
in
the
case
of
sexual
harassment
against
him.
Unni
Mukundan
approached
the
Kerala
High
Court
with
a
petition
to
stay
the
further
proceedings
and
dismiss
the
case,
stating
that
a
settlement
had
been
reached
with
the
complainant.
The
court
has
granted
a
stay
on
the
proceedings
as
per
the
actor's
request.
The
Kerala
High
Court
had
previously
ordered
the
continuation
of
the
trial
in
the
sexual
harassment
complaint
lodged
against
Unni
Mukundan
on
May
23.
The
actor's
plea
to
stay
the
trial
was
rejected
by
the
court.
Initially,
Unni
Mukundan's
lawyer
claimed
that
a
settlement
had
been
reached,
but
the
complainant
later
refuted
this
claim.
The
single
bench
of
the
High
Court
ruled
that
the
trial
proceedings
should
continue,
emphasising
that
there
was
no
need
to
quash
the
case.
The
complainant
has
expressed
her
unwillingness
to
settle
the
matter,
leading
the
court
to
lift
the
stay
on
the
trial
proceedings
and
allow
them
to
progress.
Allegations
Of
Molestation,
Defamation,
And
Threats
According
to
the
woman
from
Kottayam,
Unni
Mukundan
allegedly
attempted
to
molest
her
when
she
visited
his
flat
after
being
invited
to
discuss
a
film
project.
The
complainant
also
alleged
that
the
actor
subsequently
engaged
in
defamation
and
made

against
her.
The
trial
will
now
proceed
as
directed
by
the
court.
