Dharmajan
Breaks
Silence
About
His
Absence
From
Cinema:
Popular
actor
and
stand-up
comedian
Dharmajan
Bolgatty
recently
revealed
that
he
did
not
voluntarily
take
a
break
from
films.
Instead,
he
suspects
that
he
was
deliberately
excluded
from
the
industry,
as
he
had
not
received
any
acting
opportunities
for
a
significant
period
of
time.
In
an
interview
with
Milestone
Makers,
Dharmajan
Bolgatty
said
that
he
did
not
reach
out
to
anyone
seeking
acting
opportunities,
which
might
have
contributed
to
his
absence
from
the
industry.
He
further
noted
that
he
is
typically
approached
for
roles
that
specifically
demand
his
presence,
and
there
are
numerous
actors
in
the
industry
who
can
act
in
his
place
if
needed.
When
asked
about
his
prolonged
absence
from
the
film
industry,
Dharmajan,
who
was
initially
introduced
to
the
industry
by
actor
Dileep,
expressed
his
belief
that
he
had
been
deliberately
excluded
from
the
industry.
The
actor
further
added
that
the
initial
gap
in
his
career
was
caused
by
the
impact
of
the
COVID-19
pandemic.
Additionally,
he
emphasised
that
he
has
never
reached
out
to
anyone,
pleading
for
roles
throughout
his
entire
life,
which
he
believes
could
be
another
contributing
factor.
Despite
this,
he
remains
puzzled
as
to
why
he
has
not
received
any
opportunities
and
remains
in
the
dark
regarding
the
reasons
behind
it.
Dharmajan,
who
gained
fame
alongside
his
friend
Ramesh
Pisharody
as
a
beloved
comedy
duo
among
Malayalis,
shared
his
perspective
on
the
film
industry,
acknowledging
that
it
is
a
domain
where
there
are
numerous
alternatives
for
actors
like
himself.
He
noted
that
this
was
not
the
case
in
the
past,
but
the
landscape
has
since
transformed.
Dharmajan
recognised
that
there
are
capable
actors
who
can
step
in
if
he
is
not
available.
He
emphasised
that
he
does
not
actively
seek
out
roles
and
does
not
harbour
any
grievances
about
the
situation.
He
also
said
that
he
is
considering
all
he
has
gotten
so
far
as
a
bonus.
The
comedian,
hailing
from
Mulavukad,
an
island
near
Kochi
city,
reflected
on
his
journey,
highlighting
that
he
was
born
in
a
village
and
faced
numerous
challenges
along
the
way.
He
began
his
career
as
a
mimicry
artist
and
performed
in
numerous
stage
shows
before
transitioning
into
film
roles.
Dharmajan
emphasised
that
his
progress
was
a
gradual
process.
Dharmajan
expressed
his
gratitude
towards
Dileep,
who
played
a
pivotal
role
in
introducing
him
to
the
film
industry.
Until
now,
he
had
refrained
from
personally
seeking
out
roles.
However,
he
acknowledged
that
actors
like
Jayasurya
have
shared
their
experiences
of
actively
pursuing
opportunities
to
secure
notable
roles.
Dharmajan
speculated
that
his
own
character
traits
might
have
hindered
him
from
approaching
others
for
a
chance.
Moving
forward,
he
recognised
the
need
to
proactively
reach
out
to
people
for
roles
and
expressed
his
determination
to
do
so.
Dharmajan
embarked
on
his
Malayalam
film
journey
with
the
movie
Paappi
Appacha
(2010),
where
he
portrayed
the
role
of
Dileep's
driver
sidekick.
Subsequently,
he
appeared
in
numerous
films,
solidifying
his
position
as
a
comedy
actor.
In
2021,
the
actor
ventured
into
active
politics
and
participated
as
a
UDF
candidate
from
the
Balussery
constituency
in
the
recent
assembly
elections.
