Entertainment South Highlights: Mohanlal Celebrates His 63rd Birthday

Mohanlal's 'Drishyam' franchise, which was remade in Hindi with Ajay Devgn and Tabu in the lead, is being adapted for South Korean audiences with the official Korean remake. Both parts of Drishyam will be remade in Korean. The official announcement regarding this was made today at the world-famous Cannes Film Festival. The Korean remake will be an Indo-Korean joint venture with Panorama Studios, the makers of the Hindi remake of the Drishyam franchise, and Anthology Studios from South Korea. Although the original is in Malayalam, the announcement has come as a remake of a Hindi film. The multi-language rights to Drishyam belong to Panorama Studios.

Malaikottai Valiban is one of Mohanlal's upcoming projects. The first look of the film, which was released earlier, was very popular with the audience. Now the makers have released a short video called Glimpses of Valiban on the occasion of Mohanlal's birthday. This big-budget film is directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. The shooting of the film is progressing in Chennai. This is also the film where Lijo and Mohanlal team up for the first time. The first schedule in Rajasthan was recently completed.

Atlee, director of Theri, Mersal, and Bigil, will be attending the Cannes Film Festival. His wife, Priya Atlee, is also accompanying him. Atlee's upcoming film is Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan.
