Can A Film Be Judged by Its Teaser?: High Court Rejects Emergency Stay Request For 'The Kerala Story' Movie

The Kerala High Court rejects a plea seeking an urgent stay of 'The Kerala Story' movie. The Rajiv Gandhi Study Circle NGO office-bearer filed a petition in court demanding a stay of the film screening.
But the court asked whether the mentions in the teaser of the film can be considered the full purpose of the film, and the court also said that the petitioner has only seen the teaser but has not seen the film. And the question was raised to the petitioner about whether the film could be judged only by watching the teaser.
The court sought an explanation from the Central Board of Film Certification on the plea and adjourned the plea to Friday. The petition stated that many parts of The Kerala Story are meant to defame Kerala and only 10 scenes have been removed by the Censor Board at present. Then the court asks for an explanation. The petitioner is demanding that the hate speech in the film be removed and the process of issuing the A certificate be cancelled.
At the same time, The crew of the film corrected the Description which claim that 32,000 people in the state have converted and joined ISIS. The YouTube description of the trailer has been changed as 'The Kerala Stories' is a story of the broken lives of three girls in different parts of Kerala. Director sudipto sen had earlier responded that 'Kerala Story' is not against Kerala.
