Punctuality is the foremost expectation of producers and directors from their actors. In the film "Chaaver," in which I was involved, Kunchacko Boban played a significant role. Throughout the shoot, which included more than 35 days of full-night shoots, I developed a deep admiration for Kunchako Boban. Whenever he was asked to be at the shooting location, he would arrive at least 5 minutes ahead of the scheduled time.
After the shoot concluded at 12:30 AM one night, we faced a dilemma. The next day's scene was scheduled for dawn, and applying the makeup alone would take an hour and a half if we aimed to start shooting at 6 AM. To accommodate this, Kunchacko Boban had to arrive at the location by 4 a.m. Hesitantly, I approached him and shared this concern. Without any hesitation, he asked, 'Azad bhai, what time should I be there? Just tell me, and I will be there.'
True to his promise, he arrived at 4 o'clock, while the rest of the crew reached the location 5 minutes late. Despite this, he didn't complain. As the shoot began at 6 a.m., he didn't even retreat to the caravan until the scene was wrapped up. That's the essence of Chakochan. In today's Malayalam cinema, Kunchacko Boban shines as a role model for timely professionalism among actors.
