With Thalapathy Vijay headlining the cast, expectations are soaring for yet another blockbuster under Kanagaraj's helm. And now, a fresh update about the film has just surfaced.
The spotlight is now on the character Harold Das, portrayed by none other than the action king himself, Arjun Sarja. A riveting first-look video showcasing Arjun in his mass avatar for the role has been unveiled.
Director Lokesh Kanagaraj shared the 41-second glimpse, where Arjun exudes power and charisma. The video intriguingly ends with Babu Antony appearing alongside Arjun, leaving fans intrigued. This unveiling coincides with Arjun Sarja's birthday celebration.
Interestingly, reports reveal that the character of Harold Das was initially offered to none other than Prithviraj Sukumaran. However, for reasons undisclosed, Prithviraj declined the role, leading the way for Arjun Sarja's impactful portrayal.
High Anticipation Surrounds 'Leo' as Thalapathy Vijay Takes the Lead in Lokesh Kanagaraj's Directorial
Adding to the excitement, Trisha Krishnan has been cast as Vijay's leading lady, marking a significant reunion after a 14-year hiatus. The film promises to be an enthralling treat as it assembles a star-studded cast, including Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mathew Thomas, Myshkin, Sanjay Dutt, Priya Anand, Mansoor Ali Khan, Sandy Master, Babu Antony, Manobala, George, Abhirami Venkatachalam, Denzil Smith, Madonna Sebastian, and Anurag Kashyap, among others.
Notably, the film had earlier dropped a sneak peek into Sanjay Dutt's portrayal of the antagonist, Antony Das. Flaunting a powerful presence, the video unveiled Dutt's larger-than-life look, and this reveal coincided with Sanjay Dutt's own birthday on July 29.
Produced under the banner of Seven Screen Studios and helmed by S. Lalit Kumar, 'Leo' marks Lokesh Kanagaraj's follow-up project after Kamal Haasan's "Vikram." The musical wonder Anirudh Ravichander is curating the film's soundtrack.
The demand for distribution rights in Kerala has been overwhelming since the film's inception, with five major distributors competing for the rights. Ultimately, Gokulam Movies, led by Gokulam Gopalan, clinched the distribution rights for 'Leo' in Kerala, underscoring the immense buzz the film has generated.
