Malayalam Actor C V Dev Passes Away: Malayalam theatre and film actor C V Dev, also known as C Vasudevan, has passed away at the age of 83.

He was undergoing treatment at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital due to a heart ailment. With an impressive career spanning over five hundred films and numerous plays, C. V. Dev made a significant impact in the world of acting. Initially known as C. Vasudevan, he later adopted the stage name C. V. Dev after emerging as a prominent figure in the art scene.

Some of his notable film credits include Sadayam, Ee Puzhayum Kadannu, Pattabhishekam, Manassinakkare, Ullam, Njaan, Urumbukal Urangarilla, Sukhamayirikkatte, Mizhi Randilum, Chandrolsavam, Kadha Thudarunnu and many more. Originally from Kozhikode, his first film was Yaro Oral directed by Pavithran.

CV Dev is known for his many roles like RDP comrade in Sandesam, Mahout in Mannadiar Penninu Chenkotta Checkan, Valsan Mashu in English Medium, Palissery in Chandrolsavam, Gopiyettan in Urumbukal Urangarilla.

C.V. Dev's illustrious Acting Career Spanning Six Decades

C V Dev, born in 1940 in Vadakara Chemmarathur, was the eldest son of Kanaran and Narayani. His journey in the art scene began in 1959 when he took on a role in the play 'Vilakkinte Velichathil,' directed by Sadanandan Kallai.

Throughout his career, he portrayed notable characters in plays such as K.T Muhammad's 'Sthithi,' M.T Vasudevan Nair's 'Gopura nadayil,' and P M Taj's 'Agraharam.' In addition to his acting prowess, C V Dev also showcased his directing skills in numerous plays, including 'Paanan Paadatha Pattu.'

C V Dev, renowned for his talents, served as a B High Grade Artist in Kozhikode Akashvani. His remarkable contributions to the field of acting were honored with prestigious awards, including the Bharath P J Antony Memorial Nadaka Cinema Abhinaya Pratibha Award and the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy Guru Pooja Award. He resided in Edakkad, Puthiyangadi, Kozhikode.

The funeral will take place on Tuesday at 9 a.m. at Westhill Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Janaki, and his children, Sukanya, Sukavya, and Sukatmajan. Additionally, his nephews, Vijisha, Suresh, and Dasan, mourn his loss.
