Mammootty & Dileep Have A Similar Compulsion When It Comes To Their Movie: Senior Producer Reveals

Dileep was closely related to Mammootty in the film world. But later, there were rumours that there were some cracks in the Dileep-Mammooty relationship.

This was after Dileep was accused of assaulting the actress. At that time, Dileep's membership in the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) was revoked.

Mammootty then said that it is a shame to have criminals in the organisation, and there should be reformation in the association. But Dileep's name was not mentioned. Later, there was a situation where Dileep was taken back. Within a few months, Dileep resigned himself from the association.

It is not clear whether Dileep still has close friendships with stars including Mammootty and Mohanlal. None of them talk about Dileep in public now. When Mammootty's mother passed away recently, Dileep's presence attracted attention among the stars who came to pay their respects at the house.

Meanwhile, producer K. G. Nair's words about a similarity between Mammootty and Dileep are now being discussed. He said this during an interview with Master Bin Channel. He said that Mammootty is an actor who wants to know the ins and outs of a project on which he is working, and Dileep is similar to Mammootty in that matter.

"Mammootty wants to know the ins and outs of a project he does. The same is the case with Dileep. The producer of Dileep's 'Natodi Mannan' was unable to take the film forward. Despite going to Dubai and searching, the producer did not get the money. On that occasion, he came to me. I sold that picture in three days. Not for nothing; I did it for commission. After this, Dileep said he wanted to meet me. Dileep asked why I hadn't informed him of the matter. I said the producer wanted money to take the film forward. I told Dileep that if such a thing happened again, I would not do it without asking him. In the case of Mohanlal, Anthony Perumbavoor has specifically said that if any such support is given, it should not be done without informing him. That's because if any problem happens, they will be in trouble. So it's a good concern of theirs. That's a good thing," K. G. Nair said in the interview.

Mammootty's Karnan

K.G. Nair also said that his biggest wish was to make a film with Mammootty and Mohanlal in the lead roles. He was also in the initial stages of making a film with Mammootty. But later, that film didn't happen. "Initially, Shafi was the director of the film. Many people came to write the screenplay for the film, but finally the actor and screenwriter P. Sreekumar said that he has a story with him and that he can do it." K.G. Nair said.

"The name of the story was Karnan. I have heard that story before. But after listening to the demands put forward by P. Sreekumar, I withdrew from that project. He asked for Rs 50 lakh as a reward for the script alone." Nair said. "And for acting, dubbing, and so on, you have to pay separately. His expenses were more than I could bear," Nair said. That is how he gave up the dream of that film.
