Fans see Mammootty as the megastar of Malayalam cinema. There was a time when Mammootty was the epitome of the hero concept in Malayalam cinema.
Mammootty is an actor who has gone through many stages in his career. Even at the age of 71, he looks as handsome as any other young talent in the industry.
Mammootty made several attempts at opportunities in the early days. The actor played supporting roles at that time. Later, the actor rose to the top and became a superstar. The actor later faced ups and downs in his career.
The audience says that Mammootty is going through the best period of his career today. The audience has high hopes for the films released by the actor today. Movies like Puzhu, Rorschach, and Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam are examples of this.
Recently Senior Producer K. G. Nair said that his biggest wish was to make a film with Mammootty and Mohanlal in the lead roles. He was also in the initial stages of making a film with Mammootty. But later, that film didn't happen.
"Initially, Shafi was the director of the film. Many people came to write the screenplay for the film, but finally the actor and screenwriter P. Sreekumar said that he has a story with him and that he can do it." K.G. Nair said.
"The name of the story was Karnan. I have heard that story before. But after listening to the demands put forward by P. Sreekumar, I withdrew from that project. He asked for Rs 50 lakh as a reward for the script alone." Nair said. "And for acting, dubbing, and so on, you have to pay separately. His expenses were more than I could bear," Nair said. That is how he gave up the dream of that film.
