The new actress in the movie '18 Plus,' set against the backdrop of Kannur, has garnered significant attention. The audience's curiosity about this newcomer points directly to Meenakshi Dinesh, a native of Kannur Alavil. Meenakshi has now made her mark among the heroines in Malayalam cinema through her role in '18 Plus,' the latest film from the 'Joe and Jo' team, which achieved success in theaters and is now available for streaming online.

Meenakshi holds a degree in mass communication. It was actress Surabhi Lakshmi, who had come to Kannur for a commercial shoot at Kannur airport, that paved the way for Meenakshi's entry into the world of cinema. During the shoot, a part of the commercial was filmed at Meenakshi's home. Although Meenakshi had a passion for acting, she had kept her aspirations to herself. However, when Surabhi Lakshmi inquired if she was interested, Meenakshi eagerly said yes, marking the beginning of her journey in the world of Malayalam cinema.
