Mohanlal Cheers Kerala State Film Award Winners:Mohanlal congratulates the Kerala State Film Award winners. The highly anticipated Kerala State Film Award for Best Film is awarded to 'Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam,' skillfully directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. The coveted Best Actor title goes to Mammootty for his outstanding portrayal of James/Sundaram in the same film.

Mammootty's exceptional performances in 'Puzhu' and 'Rorschach' also contributed to his well-deserved win. Kunchacko Boban remained a strong contender until the final moments, showcasing remarkable performances in films like 'Ariyippu,' 'Nna Thaan Case Kodu,' and 'Pada.'

Kunchacko Boban received a Special Jury Mention for his outstanding performance in "Nna Than Case Kodu," while Alencier Ley Lopez was also recognized with a Special Jury Mention for his role in the movie "Appan."

The other major awards include: Second Best Film: Adithattu; Best Director: Mahesh Narayanan for "Ariyippu"; Best Actress: Vincy Aloshious for "Rekha"; Character Actor: P P Kunhikrishnan for "Nna Than Case Kodu"; Character Actress: Devi Verma for "Saudi Vellakka."

This time, there were 154 films competing in the Kerala State Film Awards. Due to the large number of films, a three-tier jury decided the verdict. Thirty percent of the films evaluated by the two preliminary-level juries (sub-committees) were sent to the final jury. The presidents of both juries were also part of the final jury.

The first sub-committee was chaired by director, art director, and painter Nemam Pushparaj, and the members were writers VJ James, Dr. KM Sheeba, and art director Roy P. Thomas. Director K M Madhusudan chaired the second committee, and the members included producer B K Rakesh, directors Sajaz Rahman, and Vinod Sukumaran.

The final jury was chaired by Bengali director and actor Gautam Ghosh, and it included cinematographer Harinair, sound designer D Yuvraj, actress Gauthami, and playback singer Jency Gregory, in addition to the chairmen of the sub-committees.
