Mohanlal Fans Club Admits The Triumph Of The 2018 Movie: When '2018' reached the Rs 100 crore club, a question became the topic of much discussion on social media: "Will '2018' beat the record of Pulimurugan?" .
It is not uncommon for fans of superstars to engage in arguments regarding the records set by their favourite stars' films. The same scenario unfolded between the fans of Mohanlal (Pulimurugan) and the "2018" movie as they debated the respective records of each film. Now the official group of Mohanlal fans has admitted through Twitter that 'Murugan is done'.

Mohanlal fans are eyeing his upcoming films Lucifer 2: Empuraan and Malaikottai Vaaliban to set new records in collections and to reclaim Mohanlal's 'throne'.

Mohanlal's films are the trendsetters in Malayalam cinema's pan-Indian achievements and box-office collections. Mohanlal films are also the first Malayalam films to enter the 50 and 100 crore clubs. Mohanlal's Pulimurugan's record as the biggest hit in Malayalam remained unbroken for seven years.
But '2018: Everyone is a Hero' which hit theatres without much pre-release publicity, has not only broken collection records but also created a new history. 2018 is the first film from Malayalam cinema to enter the 150 crore club. 2018 also holds the record for being the highest-grossing Malayalam film globally.
According to ForumKeralam, the 2018 movie is managing to rake in good numbers even during its fourth week. In the Kerala Box Office, the 2 crore plus Saturday collection takes the overall gross to 77 crore plus. And the film is all set to cross Pulimurugan's Kerala gross of 78.5 crore in the coming day.

Earlier, within 10 days of its release, 2018, entered the 100 crore club, and Jude's film has earned the reputation of being the fastest Malayalam film to enter the 100 crore club. 2018 surpassed Lucifer, which reached the 100 crore club in 12 days, to achieve this record.
