The
National
Film
Awards
was
declared
in
New
Delhi
during
a
press
meet
on
Thursday.
This
prestigious
award,
organized
by
the
National
Film
Development
Corporation
of
India,
is
dedicated
to
recognizing
and
celebrating
the
finest
achievements
in
Indian
cinema.
The
69th
National
Film
Awards
for
the
year
2021
were
originally
scheduled
for
May
3,
2022;
however,
the
awards
ceremony
faced
delays
due
to
the
impacts
of
the
COVID-19
pandemic.
Regarded
as
India's
premier
film
award
ceremony,
the
National
Film
Awards
has
been
a
cornerstone
of
the
nation's
cinematic
landscape
since
its
inception
in
1954.
The
Directorate
of
Film
Festivals,
a
division
of
the
Indian
government,
has
overseen
the
awards
alongside
the
International
Film
Festival
of
India
and
the
Indian
Panorama
since
1973.
Each
year,
a
national
panel
appointed
by
the
government
meticulously
selects
the
winners.
The
grand
award
ceremony
takes
place
in
the
capital
city
of
New
Delhi,
where
the
President
of
India
personally
presents
the
honors.
This
is
then
followed
by
the
launch
of
the
National
Film
Festival,
featuring
screenings
of
the
award-winning
films
for
the
public
to
enjoy.
These
awards
not
only
acknowledge
excellence
in
Indian
cinema
on
a
national
scale
but
also
commend
outstanding
regional
contributions.
The
awards
encompass
various
categories,
acknowledging
the
best
films
in
each
linguistic
and
regional
facet
of
the
country.
The
National
Film
Awards
span

primary

Feature
Films
and
Non-Feature
Films.
Expert
juries,
appointed
by
the
Directorate
of
Film
Festivals
in
India,
