TV Actress And Friend Arrested For Alleged Honey Trapping: In Paravur, an elderly man accused a television actress and her friend of honeytrapping him and extorting Rs 11 lakh, leading to their arrest.

Nithya Sasi and Binu (48) are the accused who have been apprehended by the police on charges of honey trapping and extorting Rs 11 lakh from a 75-year-old ex-serviceman and former Kerala University employee from Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram.

The incidents in question took place starting on May 24, when Nithya contacted the complainant under the pretext of renting a house. Subsequently, she visited the house and struck up a friendship with the elderly man. According to the complaint, Nithya threatened him inside the house and coerced him into undressing while she took explicit photographs, with Binu from Kalaikode, Paravur, involved in capturing the compromising pictures.

Using the compromising images, the duo demanded a sum of Rs 25 lakh and threatened to share the photos on social media if he did not comply. Succumbing to repeated threats, the victim paid Rs 11 lakh.

When the perpetrators demanded more money, the elderly man decided to take action and lodged a complaint with the Paravur police on July 18.

Who Is Nithya Sasi?

Nithya Sasi (41) is a resident of Malayalapuzha, Pathanamthitta. She is a lawyer and an actress in a popular Malayalam serial shown on both television and OTT.

The police are currently investigating whether Nithya Sasi and Binu have been involved in similar fraudulent activities in the past.
