Awaiting 'Udal' on OTT- Fans Long for its Digital Debut:The gripping Malayalam movie 'Udal,' featuring Dhyan Sreenivasan, Durga Krishna, and Indrans in lead roles, captured the audience's attention upon its theatrical release on May 20, 2022.
However, fans have been eagerly awaiting its arrival on OTT platforms. While rumours circulated about its impending OTT release, no official confirmation was available. Now, actor Dhyan Sreenivasan provides insight into the film's OTT status.
Dhyan Sreenivasan Reveals 'Udal's' OTT Status
In an interview with BehindWoods, Dhyan Sreenivasan was asked about 'Udal's' OTT release. He responded, "I don't know. You should inquire with those involved in the direction and production of the film. They had plans to remake 'Udal' in other languages. The director informed me that they have decided to withhold its OTT release for now. I believe that's the current situation. I'm not aware of any other details," Dhyan Sreenivasan clarified.
Previous reports suggested that 'Udal' is being remade in Hindi, leading to speculation that Gokulam Movies, a prominent Malayalam film production company and the producers of 'Udal,' is venturing into the Hindi and Telugu film industries. Ratheesh Raghunandan, the director of 'Udal,' is set to helm the Hindi version as well.
Produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Gokulam Movies, 'Udal' is an emotionally charged film written and directed by Ratheesh Raghunandan. The co-producers of the movie are V.C. Praveen and Baiju Gopalan, with Krishnamurthy serving as the Executive Producer.
