Actor Vinayakan Demands Case Against Himself In Response To Chandy Oommen's Statement

Vinayakan Demands Case Against Himself: Actor Vinayakan responded to Chandy Oommen's statement that no case needed for Vinayakan's alleged social media insult towards Oommen Chandy.
Vinayakan responded through social media, saying, "Case against me should be filed." He shared a screenshot of a news story where Chandy Oommen mentioned that there is no need to file a case against Vinayakan.
Chandy Oommen, the son of Oommen Chandy, told the media that he does not wish to file a case in the Vinayakan controversy. He added that if his late father, Oommen Chandy, were alive, he would have seen it as Vinayakan's personal opinion and not filed a case.
Ongoing Investigation And Charges Against Vinayakan
A few days ago, the police questioned Vinayakan, who admitted to doing the Facebook Live but clarified that it was not meant to insult Oommen Chandy. The police seized Vinayakan's phone and sent it for forensic examination as part of the investigation into his alleged social media insult towards the late former Chief Minister of Kerala, Oommen Chandy.
Vinayakan has been charged with speaking provocatively and disrespecting a deceased person. The case was initiated by the Ernakulam North Police after numerous complaints were filed against his social media post during Oommen Chandy's funeral procession. The charges against him are bailable offences.
The controversy began when actor Vinayakan made controversial remarks about the late Oommen Chandy, who passed away on July 18th. During a Facebook Live session, Vinayakan questioned the public holiday and mourning for the former Chief Minister, which led to widespread protests.
"Who is this Oommen Chandy? Why a public holiday for three days? I am asking the media to stop and go. My father died, and your father also died. What should we do about it? Even if you think Oommen Chandy is good, I don't think so. If we look at Karunakaran's case, don't we all know who he was?" said Vinayakan in his Facebook Live.
Vinayakan later removed the post after it sparked a heated discussion on social media, but by then, the video had already been widely shared and criticised.
