He succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical treatment at the Medical College, following a severe road accident that occurred a few days ago.

Just last year, Pravadas was honoured with the prestigious Kerala State Film Award for his book on cinema, 'Punasthapanam Enna Navendrajalam.'

Sabu Pravadas, the creative mind behind the captivating art direction of numerous Malayalam films, left an indelible mark on the industry. His exceptional work can be seen in iconic movies like 'Rajavinte Makan,' 'Manu Uncle,' 'Kattukuthira,' 'Vazhiyorakazchakal,' 'Pathram,' 'Lelam,' 'Run Baby Run,' 'Amritham,' 'Parvathy Parinayam,' 'Ottayadipathakal,' 'First Bell,' and many more. His extensive collaboration with filmmakers across various genres of Malayalam cinema reflects his versatility and artistic prowess.

Pravadas also played a vital role as a designer for the Kerala State Film Academy's film festivals, including the renowned International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK). His unwavering passion for learning and adapting to the ever-evolving techniques in the realm of art was remarkable. He never hesitated to share his knowledge with others, making him a true luminary in the field.

Notably, Sabu Pravadas spearheaded the formation of the FEFKA Publicity Designers Union, making significant contributions in the realm of artistic campaigns at the organisational level of film unions like MACTA and FEFKA.

Born to Pravada Sukumaran and Menaka Sukumaran, the illustrious owners of the renowned Pravada Studio in Ernakulam, Sabu Pravadas was the eldest of eight siblings. His family's connection to the film industry was profound, as he is the brother of the accomplished still photographer, Ambili Pravada, and the brother-in-law of the renowned director, P.G. Vishwambharan.

Sabu Pravadas is survived by his wife, Shirley Sabu, and his son, Ashwin Sabu. His untimely demise is a great loss to the world of cinema, and he will be remembered for his invaluable contributions and artistic brilliance.
