From Novel to Screen: The Journey of Aadujeevitham

Adapted from Benyamin's acclaimed 2008 Malayalam novel, "Aadujeevitham" chronicles Najeeb's journey as a Malayali labourer who becomes a goat herder on a remote Saudi Arabian farm. Director Blessy embarked on the project in 2009 after discovering the novel in 2008. Despite financial challenges, Blessy persisted, securing production in 2015 with support from producers Jimmy Jean-Louis and Steven Adams. A.R. Rahman's evocative score adds depth to the film's narrative.

Filming Challenges and Triumphs

Filming spanned six phases from March 2018 to July 2022, navigating locations such as the Wadi Rum desert in Jordan, the Sahara in Algeria, and Kerala, India. The shoot faced a 70-day pause in the Jordanian desert due to COVID-19, culminating in a triumphant conclusion on July 14, 2022.
