Sangeeth Sivan Passed Away: Renowned director and cinematographer Sangeeth Sivan (65) has passed away. He died while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Mumbai.

Sangeeth Sivan was known for his work in both the Malayalam and Hindi film industries. He gained acclaim with his directorial debut in the Malayalam film 'Vyooham' and is best known for directing the 1992 Malayalam film 'Yodha,' which solidified his reputation as a leading director in Malayalam cinema.

A Talented Contributor To Malayalam And Hindi Cinema

Sivan was the eldest son of filmmaker Sivan and played a significant role in influencing his family's involvement in the industry. His brothers, Santosh Sivan and Sanjeev Sivan, also pursued careers in film. He began his career as an executive producer for Basu Bhattacharya's son's directorial debut, 'Raakh,' starring Aamir Khan and Pankaj Kapur.

Sivan's directorial journey continued with a foray into Bollywood, directing the film 'Zor' starring Sunny Deol. Although the film did not perform well at the box office, his directorial talent was acknowledged by many producers, leading to further opportunities. His later works included projects with prominent actors such as Jackie Shroff and collaborations with Mohanlal in films like 'Yodha,' 'Gandharvam,' and 'Nirnayam,' which have since garnered a cult following.

Sivan directed the comedy film 'Yamla Pagla Deewana 2' in 2013, featuring the Deol family. His final work was the psychological thriller web series 'Bhram' in 2019. Sivan's versatility and contributions to Indian cinema have left a lasting impact on the industry.
