Identity has minted only Rs. 1.26 Cr on opening day as of 8pm, according to the early updates of Sacnilk. The movie struggled to make even Rs. 2 Cr as the final box office report of day 1 is set to come. The early reports also states that the film had 27.35% Malayalam occupancy January 2nd, while the Tamil occupancy was 10.26%.

Identity stars Anas Khan, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Vinay Rai, Akhil George, Aju Varghese, Madonna Sebastian, Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt apart from Tovino Thomas and Trisha Krishnan, who play the roles of Hari Sankar and Alisha respectively. Talking about his character, Tovino stated in his recent interview, "It's a character that has its own peculiarities. I haven't played such a role before. You shouldn't act a lot for this type of character. He is a sketch artist, who at one point collaborates with the police and sketches for them."

The movie is directed by Anas Khan & Akhil Paul, while the cinematography was done by Akhil George.
