L2: Empuraan Release Date: Audiences are eagerly anticipating updates on the film "L2: Empuraan," directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and starring Mohanlal.
Currently in production in Thiruvananthapuram, Mohanlal recently disclosed details about the film's release. He clarified that the team aims to unveil "L2: Empuraan" by the year's end or possibly in January 2025.
Initially filmed in Ladakh, the production journey expanded to include locations in the UK, US, and Chennai. Mohanlal further revealed plans to shoot scenes in Gujarat and Dubai, promising that viewers will gain insight into the enigmatic character Khureshi-Ab'raam through the film. Mohanlal shared these insights during an episode of the Bigg Boss show, with clips from the programme circulating on social media platforms.
L2: Empuraan New Poster
Yesterday, the character appearance for "Empuraan," the latest directorial venture by Prithviraj Sukumaran, was unveiled. The poster, released in honour of Mohanlal's birthday, showcases Mohanlal as Khureshi-Ab'raam, accompanied by armed security guards.
Serving as the sequel to the 2019 hit "Lucifer," this film is part of a trilogy and is scheduled for release in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, in collaboration with Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions.
The ensemble cast includes returning stars such as Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Baiju Santhosh, and Fazil from "Lucifer," alongside rumoured additions like Suraj Venjaramoodu, Sharafudheen, and Shine Tom Chacko. Murali Gopi provides the screenplay, Sujith Vaassudev oversees the cinematography, and Deepak Dev leads the music direction.

Baiju Santhosh stars as Murugan, with Saniya Iyappan as Jhanvi, Nyla Usha as Arundathi Sanjeev, and Sshivada as Govardhan's wife. Giju John portrays Sanjeev Kumar, while Fazil appears as Fr. Nedumpally and Sachin Khedekar as P.K. Ramdas. The extensive cast further includes Nandhu as P.S.
