Lok Sabha Election 2024: In Kerala's Thrissur constituency, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate and actor-politician Suresh Gopi is currently leading in the Lok Sabha Election 2024. His sustained lead since the start of the vote counting indicates strong support from the people of Thrissur. As of the latest information, Suresh Gopi has a majority of 73,954 votes.

The BJP district leadership anticipated that Suresh Gopi would secure a 20,000-vote majority in Thrissur. However, the current figures indicate a less impressive performance. It appears that the substantial Hindu vote share in the district favoured Suresh Gopi. Meanwhile, Congress candidate K. Muralidharan has not managed to lead at any stage, emphasising this trend.

At present, Suresh Gopi is in Thiruvananthapuram. The media has gathered outside his residence. Upon securing a good lead, he appeared before the media with his family, distributing sweets, but declined to speak to reporters.
