Bavuttiyude Namathil, directed by G S Vijayan is a simple feel good movie, with comedy and emotions. It's a touching film that you can watch with your entire family. No mistakes can be found in G S Vijayan's direction. Cinematography by Manoj Pillai is brilliant and so are the songs by Shahbaaz-Aman-Rafeeq, which is very hummable. There is nothing 'outstanding' about Bavuttiyude Namathil, but still it's charming and enjoyable in every way.
Few of the scenes and sequences are taken 'straight out of life' and brilliantly narrated. Dialogues are hard-hitting and interesting. Few of the scenes, however is very sterotype, but you don't complain because you leave the theatre with a very nice feeling. Story Bavutty (Mammootty) is an orphan who is working as a chauffeur at the bungalow of an extremely rich couple Sethu (Sankar Ramakrishnan) and Vanaja (Kavya).
He is no less than a family member and everybody is veryfond of him. Whenever Bavutty gets free time, he gets involved in the shooting of a 'home cinema' made by some amateur artistes. Sethu only cares about making as much money as possible, thereby making his wife Vanaja feel lonely. Vanaja is a simple and sweet lady who doesn't care much for riches and wealth and prefers to live life in a simple manner.
Just before the interval, the story takes a twist and you are left wondering where the story is heading towards. Performances Though Bavuttiyude Namathil has Mammootty as the protagonist, it is Kavya Madhavan as Vanaja who steals the show with her impeccable performance. Her 'Neeleswaram' accent is very nice to listen to. Kavya has completely justified her character in the film which is that of a mature and simple-hearted woman.
Mammootty as always is brilliant. Infact, at many places, you feel like he has taken a backstage and allowed his co-stars to take the lead. Sankar Ramakrishnan, Vineeth and Harisree Asokan are good too. Verdict: Watch Bavuttiyude Namathil for a feel good factor, and also for the brilliant performances by Kavya Madhavan and Mammootty.
