Bhaskar The Rascal Review
Bhaskar (Mammootty) is a widower who lives with his only son Aadhi (Sanoop) and father. He is a ruthless businessman who runs a banking business. His father Shankaranarayanan (Janardhanan) was a popular businessman once; but fails to make it big, thus losing all his wealth. Bhaskar was the only pillar of strength for his father.
His father, son and close associated pressurizes him to remarry. Once, during a trip, Bhaskar and Aadhi come across Hima (Nayantara) and her daughter (Anikha), who are very close to Aadhi. This forms the crux of the story.
Bhaskar (Mammootty) completed his studies in abroad and running his Father Sankara Narayanan’s (Janardhanan) Banking Business. Bhaskar also called as ‘Rascal’. If anybody misbehaves in public, suddenly he beats them. So that he got this nick name. He is worried about that name and tries to avoid it. One fine day he goes a trip with his son (Master Sanoop). In that trip, he meets Hima (Nayanthara) with her daughter (Baby Anikha Surendran). Nayanthara also running a business living as single. Mammootty also a widower and his family pushed him to get next marriage.
As Siddique said it is a Siddique signatured movie after a long gap, the movie is capable of attracting both youth and family. It's a clean family entertainer. The first half is a fully packed fun filled entertainer with a small twist at the end of first half. Second half is little more serious and it discuss about the problems they are facing. The movie is executed in a perfect manner and sure it will be a super-hit.
Mammootty, the backbone of the film; as usual delivered the perfect pace; proving that comedy genres with heroism characters well suits the actor. The role of Bhaskar is perfectly shaped by him, not sliding away for a single moment.
Siddique, once again proved to be the right man to call as the hitmaker; giving a perfectly executed comedy flick which ensures all time entertainment to the audience.
In short, Bhaskar The Rascal, produced by Anto Joseph under the banner of Anto Joseph Film Company, stands as a entertainment mode film; included with heroic scenes of the Megastar; ensuring a watchable one for all film lovers.
The storyline focus on the title protagonist Bhaskar, a wealthy businessman and his son. Bhaskar though respected in the society has another shade to his character; one that of a thug who reacts instantly if anyone oppose him. Enter Hima and her daughter that thickens the plot. Bhaskar has lost his wife and Hima her husband. The first half mainly concentrate on the efforts of the kids to unite their parents. The second half turns things making the film get a serious shade.
