Jayasurya appears as VP Sathyan and this one would rightly feature among the best performances of the actor. He once again amazes his ability to transform into a character while portraying the different phases of VP Sathyan's life to perfection.
Prajesh Sen has come up with a neat job with the scripting of the movie, which seemingly is a direct account of the incidents happened in VP Sathyan's life. The script has majorly focused on the emotional turmoils and the setbacks that the player faced in his life. There isn't any unwanted elements added just for the sake of commercialization.
Captain ably sheds proper light on the 'Unsung Hero' of Kerala without taking the usual commercialized approaches of biopics. With some fine performances from the lead actors and a sincere narration, Captain is a film that you would root for, despite the minor shortcomings.
The overkill of emphasising that this story is about an unsung hero, who ended up being a frustrated man because of his injury, leaves you wondering where all that frustration was. All you remember are the close-up and slow-motion shots.
