IDI narrates the story of a person named Dawood Ibrahim, whose dream since his childhood days, has been to become a police officer. The character who is fascinated by police roles seen in films, decides to take up the job against the wishes of his family. He gets posted to a place called Kollanahallu near Kerala-Karnataka border and what happens rest forms the crux of the story.
Jayasurya looked perfect and confident in the police uniform but the writers did let him down completely. The mass scenes lacked any punch and the actor was left wanting for more. Sshivada Nair looked extremely charming but was wasted in an unwanted role.
IDI is a perfect example of how lack of clarity about the genre would affect a film badly. After a promising first half, the film goes down completely in the second half. A weak punch indeed!
