Kurup Story

Kurup is a 2021 Malayalam crime-drama movie, directed by Srinath Rajendran. The movie stars Dulquer Salmaan in the titular role. The movie is based on the life of Sukumara Kurup, Kerala's most wanted-criminal. Kurup has its screenplay penned by K.S. Aravind, Jithin K Jose and Daniell Sayooj Nair. Indrajith Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Sunny Wayne, Shine Tom Chacko, Sobhita Dhulipala, Manoj Bajpayee and Maya Menon are also will seen in prominent roles. As per the latest reports Kurup is planning its theatrical release on November 12.

Sukumara Kurup is one of the most wanted criminals, who was accused of faking his death and killing a man (Chacko) to claim his insurance. He has been on the run since 1984. Kurup marks Dulquer Salmaan's second collaboration with  Srinath Rajendran after his debut film Second Show (2012) which was also a superhit.

Story In Detail

Sukumaran Kurup (Dulquer Salmaan), an NRI man kills a film representative named Chacko and burns his body to fake his own death, with the help of his relative Bhaskara Pillai (Shine Tom Chacko). The investigation is headed by DYSP Krishna Das (Indrajith Sukumaran), who almost manages to catch Kurup.
