<i>Alibhai</i> very much alive!

Shaji Kailash is a man on a roll these days. His Baba Kalyani has become a big hit. Soon, he'll direct another film with Dileep in the lead.

Before making Baba Kalyani, he was signed up to direct Mohanlal in Alibhai. But, due to some circumstances, the film was dropped and instead, he began 'Baba...' with him. Even before the film ended, he announced that he was walking out of the film. That created doubts about the film's fate.

It now turns out that Ashirwad Films is very much interested in making the film.

Mohanlal is going to play the lead role. Shaji Kailash is not going to direct the film, however. The replacement director's name hasn't been announced yet.

This will be one of his first films in the year 2007, as soon as he completes his Sholay remake works.
