Asianet Ujala Awards 2006

Asianet-Ujala Awards'2006 has selected Classmates as the best film of the year.

Every year, Asianet-Ujala Cine Awards announces a list of best performers in various categories.

Director Lal Jose's blockbuster Classmates, which also happens to be the biggest hit in the history of Malayalam cinema, has won the award for the best film. Debutant director Major Ravi wins the award for the best director for Keerthichakra. Mohanlal and Padhmapriya are the winners of the best actor and actress awards respectively.

Roshan Andrews' controversial Notebook has received critical acclaim. He is the winner of the Special Jury Award.

Malayalam superstar Mammooty is very conspicuous by the absence of his name in the list of winners in spite of films like Karutha Pakshikal and Palunku.

Best Supporting actress - Radhika (Classmates).
Best Comedian- Innocent (Yes Your Honor).
Best Scriptwriter- James Albert (Classmates).
Best Music- Ravindran (Vadakkomnathan) .
Best Male Singer- Velugopalan .
Best Female Singer- Manjari .
