Balachandran bags award

Veteran actor and director Balachandran Menon made his entry into films in the 70's and has been personally handling several aspects of his films including direction, writing, editing, music composition, etc. He won the National award for his performance in the film, Samantharangal in 1998.

Some of his films include April 18, Tharatu, Kelkatha Sabdham, Karyam Nisaram, Samantharangal, Krishna Gopalkrishna, and Chiriyo Chiri. He enacted the role of a college professor in the super-hit film, Classmates.

Balachandran Menon has been chosen for this year's Prem Nazir Award for his contribution to the Malayalam Cinema. The award would be presented by Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan on December 16th.
