Gopika honoured with Padmini Award

The US Malayalee Association has honored actress Gopika with the Padmini Ramachandran award for being the "Best Women Film Personality".

The association had earlier announced this award in honor of the late actress Padmini who had been a long time member of the association.

Gopika has been one of the successful heroines in the South Indian Film Industry. Though she is a Malayalee, she has performed in almost all southern language movies. She made her debut in Tamil with Cheran's Autograph, a block buster of the year 2005.

After that film, she got a number of offers, but she has accepted film selectively, like Kana Kandein, Thotti Jaya... Now she is acting in Veerappu against Sundar.C.

This award might motivate her to act in more films with a renewed zeal.
