Eight films selected for IFFK

Of the 450 entries submitted for this year's Indian Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), fourteen films have been selected for the competition section. This includes six films for the Indian cinema section and eight films for the Malayalam section. The movies in the competition section includes Mohanlal starrer Paradesi, Adoor Gopalakrishnan's Naalu Pennungal, Shaji N. Karun's AKG and Lenin Rajendran's Rathri Mazha.

Paradesi by P.T. Kunju Mohammed was released for Ramzan. The movie tells the story of a man who is treated as an alien in his own country. Rathri Mazha stars Vineeth and Meera Jasmine in the lead.

The 12th IFFK will be held from December 7 to December 14. The best film in the Malayalam section will receive an award from FIPRESCI, The International Federation of Film Critics and another award from NEPTAC, for promotion of Asian cinema.
