Jyothirmayee will play the lead role in an off- beat film Adayalangal, directed by M.G.Sasi, the top name in the ad film circle. M.G. was a long time associate of director T.V. Chandran and P.T. Kunju Mohammed, and has now turned a director with his debut film Adayalangal.

Jyothirmayee is donning a lead role in a Malayalam film after a short while. It seems that the actress was upset for the past few months that she was not getting enough offers in her native language Malayalam, but got some good films in the neighboring state of Tamil Nadu. "The story of the film is well known to every Malayalee. It is based on the life history of Malayalam's legendary writer Nandanar. Since I have the traditional, typical Malayalee look, the director selected me for the role. My performance in Tamil film Periyar has also helped me a lot in getting this opportunity", Jyothirmayee told.

Adayalangal will be produced under the banner of Valluvanaadan talkies, and Govinda Padmasuriya will play the lead role . The film has Nedumudi Venu, Madambu Kunjikuttan, Manikantan, and director T.V. Chandran in other prominent roles. The film will be on floors in and around Ottappalam from 4th of October.
