Mammootty as Kutty Shranku

Shaji N Karun, the director acclaimed internationally, is all set to make a film in Malayalam with megastar Mammootty, titled Kutti Shranku. According to the director, he is planning to start the film by the second week of February 2008. The shooting of the film will take place in and around Kochi and Kollam some time in April next time.

Kutti Shranku is about a mariner, who operates a cargo vessel between the sea port of Kodungaloor, one of the ancient port towns in Kerala near Kochi and Kollam. Mammootty will play the title role, in the film, which will have story, screenplay, cinematography and direction of Shaji N Karun.

Shaji's earlier films like Piravi, Swaham and Vanaprastam are still fresh in the memory as Master pieces of the film maker
