Paradesi
is
the
Ramzaan
release
of
super
star
Mohan
Lal
which
is
released
on
12th
October
in
45
centers
all
over
Kerala.
Being
proud
about
his
role
in
this
off
beat
film,
Mohan
Lal
said,
"It
is
one
of
the
best
roles
I
have
played
in
my
career.
The
story
revolves
around
the
character
Vaaliyakkathu
Moosa
(Mohan
Lal),
one
of
the
refugees
affected
by
the
partition
of
India-Pakistan.
I
played
the
role
with
different
get
ups."
According
to
the
story
Vaaliyakkathu
Moosa
(Mohan
Lal)
moves
to
Karachi
at
a
young
age
to
look
after
his
huge
family.
But
the
whole
scenario
changes
after
India's
partition
in
1947
and
Moosa
finds
himself
stuck
in
Pakistan.
He
finally
manages
to
join
his
family
back
in
Kerala
-
but
on
a
Pakistani
passport.
"Paradesi",
which
literally
means
alien,
dwells
on
the
trials
and
tribulations
of
Moosa
and
the
people
like
him
who
are
forced
to
stay
as
aliens
in
their
own
land.
He
lives
in
Kerala
on
consecutive
one-year
extensions,
with
perpetual
uncertainty
and
tension.
Mohan
Lal
told
reporters
in
Chennai
during
the
break
of
'Rock
'N
Roll'
shoot
that
he
had
done
his
best
to
portray
Moosa
realistically.
"I
have
done
it
in
the
best
possible
manner
and
now
it
is
up
to
the
people
to
come
and
see
it.
And
I
am
expecting
a
good
number
of
people
to
watch
the
movie," the
actor
said.
The
movie,
which
has
actress
Shweta
Menon
in
the
female
lead,
has
been
directed
by
P.T.
Kunju
Mohammed,
the
director
known
for
his
offbeat
themes
like
"Aswathama",
"Maghreb"
and
"Garshome".
