Don't
worry.
Mohanlal
didn't
get
himself
injured
in
any
accident
on
the
sets.
In
one
of
his
new
films,
he
is
starring
as
a
man
who
had
lost
all
his
fingers
to
the
villains.
The
film
in
question
is
the
much-delayed
'Ramgopal
Varma
Ki
Aag'.
This
is
Ramgopal
Varma's
interpretation
of
the
1970's
classic
hit
'Sholay'.
The
director
says
that
while
'Sholay'
is
a
typical
formula
masala
film,
he
has
tried
to
make
'Aag'
a
more
well-balanced
film
with
characters
that
aren't
that
stereotypical.
So,
Mohanlal
was
brought
in
to
play
the
role
of
'Thakur',
the
good
landlord
whose
arms
are
chopped
away
by
the
dreaded
dacoit
Gabbar
Singh.
In
the
70's
there
were
larger-than-life
dacoits
in
north
India,
so
the
story
made
sense.
In
the
present
times,
we
have
the
Mumbai
underworld.
So,
now,
the
dacoit
is
replaced
by
a
powerful
and
colorful
gangster
played
by
Amitabh
Bachchan.
Mohanlal
is
Narasimha,
the
police
officer
who
comes
close
to
putting
an
end
to
the
don's
activities.
Angered,
the
don
amputates
his
fingers.
Urmila
Matondkar
makes
a
spectacular
appearance
in
an
item
number.
The
film
would
sure
be
worth
watching
atleast
for
the
song
sequence.
