Prithviraj replaces Suresh Gopi

Kaala Bazaar is the sequel to I.V. Sasi's earlier film, Angadi which earlier had Suresh Gopi in the lead role. However, the actor has now walked out of the movie and it is expected that Prithviraj will play the lead role.

The movie, scripted by T. Damodharan, will have songs written by Bicchu Thirumala and set to tunes by Shyam. Angadi discussed the plight of the Kozhikode market which was under the control of CITU headload workers and rice traders. In Kaala Bazaar, he reveals the story of illegal arms and the cocaine market. The movie revolves around the story of youth fights in a marketplace full of cocaine dealers and gunrunners. Padmapriya plays the female lead in the film.
