Sarath Kumar's Malayalam career takes off

Supreme Star Sarath Kumar launched his first Malayalam movie Pazhassi Raja with Mega Star Mammooty at Prasad Studios in Chennai yesterday. Mammootty plays the lead role of Pazhassi Raja, the brave and daring warrior prince from Wayanad. Historical notes reveal that he was the first king to take on the British.

Sarath plays Pazhassi Raja's trusted commander-in- chief and his role is present throughout the film. Padmapriya plays an important role in this movie, but not in the lead role. The names of many top heroines of Bollywood are under consideration for the lead role.

Veteran M.T.Vasudevan Nair has written the script for the film and it is being directed by Hariharan, one of the best directors in the Malayalam film industry. Another big name involved in the project is Maestro Illayaraaja, who has already composed few songs for this film. ONV Kurup has penned the lyrics. The shooting for the film is scheduled to start in Kannur from April 18 th.

After the launch Sarath said: 'It is a great honour to be a part of historical projects like PazhassiRaja. I remember watching the first movie of Mammootty. It was Mounam Sammatham.Now I'm starting my Malayalam career with him and I hope the result will be the most memorable one in the industry. I know who the real heroes of this film are; they are none other than the writer and the Director. I hope this film will open a new window for my career...' Sarath said in sheer enthusiasm, which is an asset for any actor.
