Anwar Rasheed, back with Mammootty

Filmmaker Anwar Rasheed got his first break with Rajamanikyam starring Mammootty in the lead. Anwar Rasheed, who had earlier assisted directors like K. Madhu, Johny Antony, Sunder Das, A.K. Sajan and Reghunath Paleri, became an independent director with Rajamanikyam which later became one of the biggest grossers in Malayalam.

Last year, the director had rendered another super hit film, Chota Mumbai, starring Mohanlal in the lead. The director is now busy with his new film, Annan Thambi, starring Mammootty in dual roles (brothers). Lakshmi Rai is the female lead. Marikkar Films produces the film with a script penned by Benny P. Nayarambalam.
