Tamil remake of Classmates begins

The Tamil remake of the Malayalam super duper hit Classmates directed by Lal Jose, will start shooting this month. The Tamil version is titled Ninaithaale Iniykkum which will feature director P. Vasu's son Shakthi and Prithviraj in the lead roles. Priya Mani will be the heroine.

Prithviraj played the key role in the original which created box office records in Kerala. This is a campus love story about a band of friends who graduated in 1991-92.

After the super successful Vasool Raja MBBS andShankardada series, Gemini Film Circuit is producingNinaithale Inikkum. The film will be directed by newcomer Kumaravel, who had earlier worked with Kamal Haasan in many films.

The title of the movie is in fact borrowed from the yesteryear block buster Ninaithale Inikkum (1979) which featured the legends of Tamil film industry, Kamal Hassan and Rajnikanth along with Jayapradha with direction by ace director K. Balachandar.
