Ghatotkach at Cannes Film fest

Ghatotkach-Master of Magic, the kiddie animation feature film inspired by the original Mayabazaar (starring NTR) of 50 odd years ago, is going to Cannes, the Mecca for world cinema. It will be screened at the Cannes Film festival on May 17 in the Palais C section.

Vinod Surya of Sun Animatics has produced the full-length animation feature film, directed by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, 76, who coincidentally started his career with Mayabazaar as assistant director. The movie is co-produced by Shemaroo.

The most important character and the main attraction in Mayabazaar was Ghatotkach, the son of Bhima. In the animation flick, Ghatotkach is a jungle born baby who grows to adulthood in the jungle and all the fun and adventure he has on the way is chronicled in the 100-minute-long animation-fest.

The movie will be released in Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Bengali.
