Jaya Bachchan in Shaji Karun's film?

After his much expected Kuttyshranku with Mammootty, Shaji Karun has planned to make a film with another superstar Malayalam, Mohanlal. Sources say that the director, had approached Jaya Bachchan for the female lead in the film.

Shaji plans to start this film next year.

According to the director, the proposed Mohanlal film will be based on the famous short story "Kadal" by the Malayalam writer T. Padmanabhan.

"I had planned to start the shooting even before the launch of Kuttyshranku. But due to some unavoidable reasons, it has been postponed. Now my ongoing project Kuttyshranku is almost nearing its completion. So the Mohanlal film would be launched at the beginning of the year," the director remarked.

Shaji, an ace cinematographer and director of internationally acclaimed films like Piravi, Swaham and Vanaprastham had earlier announced the title Gaatha for this Mohanlal film. However he is planning to change the title.

So also Shaji had told that Jaya Bachchan would be essaying the female lead role. But now he maintains silence regarding this issue. It is said that the female lead and the other cast and crew details will be announced later.
