Parvathy bares Jayaram!

Almost all housewives have several complaints about their husbands, when it comes to the drudgery of domestic work! While 90% of housewives are overburdened by the routine household chores that take up their time, leaving them little leisure time to enjoy with her friends or relatives or attend public functions, their beloved husbands enjoy a so-called "social priority" in the family. Many husbands neither acknowledge their wives' efforts nor do help their wives in household chores.

The latest Jayaram starrer Veruthe Oru Bharya deals with the matrimonial friction caused by the "attitude problems" between Sugunan (Jayaram) and Bindu (Gopika). Now, let"s talk with Jayaram's actress-wife Parvathy about the serious subject of Veruthe Oru Bharya!

Parvathy, an award-winning film actress who was active in films between 1987 and 1992, married Jayaram in 1992 and is now busy as a mother. "I think 90% of the husbands are like that. They believe women are meant to do household work. Jayaram chooses not to do any work when he is at home. Even if he wants a pen, we will have to take it to him....," she said.

So, is Jayaram like Sugunan, the husband of Veruthe Oru Bharya, who thinks it is the duty of a wife to carry out domestic chores all alone?

Jayaram was Parvathy's co-star in many films like Shubhayatra. Her most notable works include Oru Minnaminuginte Nurungu Vettam, Peruvannapurathe Visheshangal, Thoovana Thumbikal, Thalayanamanthram and Kireedam.

"After marriage, I was offered a role in the second part of Kireedom. But I did not take it," Parvathy revealed. In the midst of household works, Parvathy now finds time to learn Mohiniattam along with a group of housewives in Chennai. She has two children; National Award-winning child actor Kalidasan and Malavika. Kannan (Kalidasan) is now in Class X and Malavika is in Class VII.
