John Altman composes for Mohanlal

Hollywood composer John Altman is making his foray into Malayalam film industry with Akashgopuram, starring Mohanlal in the lead. The man, well-known for his music around the globe, has composed or arranged music for more than 4,000 commercials, films, and television shows. He made his debut as a music director with the British film, Hear My Song, which bagged him a BAFTA award.

Some popular films for which he has created the music include Goldeneye, Titanic, Beautiful Thing, Bhaji on Beach, Funny Bones, Hope Springs and The Lost Empire. Bhaji on Beach was an Anglo-Indian movie released in 1993. He has won several awards for his music compositions in films, including an Emmy award and British Academy Award.

Akashgopuram, directed by K.P. Kumaran, based on Norweign playwright Henrik Johan Ibsen"s 'Master Builder' is slated for release next month.
